These segments are intertwined, and are focused on improving productivity, customer satisfaction and profitably, giving professionals the tools need to enhance their careers and climb the corporate ladder.

Solomon Professional Development Courses These courses have been developed for the busy professional who has limited time to expend. They also serve as a great refresher for individuals who haven’t applied a specific tool and want to refresh their knowledge.
Formats All of Solomon’s Professional Development Courses are available in multiple formats that include: Live training sessions, Blended Learning, and Webinars with a live instructor online. The courses are designed so that you are exposed to the concepts while also required to apply them correctly. All courses are four hours in length except Practical Problem Solving and The Lean Six Sigma White Belt which will be delivered in two sessions of four hours each.

WORKPLACE ORGANIZATION - 5S
(This course is presented in a two hour session and earns four Professional Development Hours - PDHs)
The Solomon EOS Workplace Organization Course guides participants through the five steps of creating a neat, clean and organized work environment. Participants will learn the five steps of Workplace Organization - Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize and Sustain which includes how to apply visual management concepts. Two applied learning exercises are used to reinforce the 5S concepts.

LSS ESSENTIALS (PART 1 & 2) (This course is presented in two four-hour sessions and earns eight PDH)
This course is basic awareness training that has been designed to provide the core concepts of Lean and Six Sigma with a focus on basic Lean practices and quality improvement tools. Participants will be introduced to the DMAIC methodology - Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control - as well as tools to help enhance the fundamental quality skills and applications of common sense. This course will allow you to get introduced to the Lean Six Sigma principles.

PRACTICAL PROBLEM SOLVING
(This course is presented in two four hour sessions and earns 8 PDH’s)
Participants will be introduced to the A3 Practical Problem Solving (PPS) methodology based on LEAN principles and tools. Tools taught to support the PPS methodology include Identification of the 8 Wastes, Point of Cause, Target Setting, Data Collection, Fishbone diagramming, Pareto Plots, Spaghetti Diagrams, RCA, 5 WHYs, Standard Work and A3 Reporting. Tools will be reinforced through hands on exercises and A3 workplace examples.

BASIC PROJECT MANAGEMENT (This course is presented in a two-hour session and earns four PDH’s)
The basic project management course will teach the skills needed to do a project from start until finish. The course is meant for beginning project leaders, project team members and for more experienced project leaders with little theoretical reference. In the course both theory and practice are taught. Participants will learn the definition of a project. How to write a project charter; The four phases of a project; How to develop a project budget; How to do a risk assessment; the three constraints of a project; and how to complete a proper project closeout.

DEVELOPING STANDARD WORK (This course is presented in a two hour session and earns four PDH’s)
Participants will learn the basic principles of standard work. When properly written and deployed the result is to free individuals from the tedium and stress of ensuring that work is done properly so that they have bandwidth to think more broadly about the purpose of continuous improvement and talent development. The goals are simple and straight forward. They are to teach the development of well written Standard Work that isn’t constraining to the individuals performing the work but still provide for standardization. Participants will experience how to provide everyone who performs a task with a well-documented, visual system that guides them through the proper execution of that task.
PROCESS MAPPING BASICS (This course is presented in a two-hour session and earns four PDH’s)
Participants will learn by experiencing how to properly describe how the work flows from step one through to the end by using mapping tools. This course will show you who is looking for an easy way to document their work. By the end of the course you will know how to:
